Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time Scale Operator to join our fast-paced landscape supply yard. This position serves as the main point of contact for all customers and vehicle traffic entering and exiting the yard. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and thrives in a busy, multitasking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the scale house to process all incoming and outgoing trucks and retail customers
Handle transactions including cash, credit cards, and account-based ticketing
Provide excellent customer service in-person and over the phone
Answer incoming calls, provide product information, quotes, and schedule deliveries
Coordinate yard operations via CB radio with delivery drivers, loader operators, and incoming vehicles
Maintain accurate records of transactions and yard activity
Ensure clear and safe communication across all traffic entering and exiting the yard
Support overall yard operations and assist with other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

Previous customer service or dispatch experience preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Familiarity with landscape materials is a plus, but not required
Basic computer and office equipment proficiency
Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Working Conditions

Full-time position, including some Saturdays
Office-based with frequent communication to outdoor yard operations
Exposure to noise, dirt, and outdoor conditions
